Like many of his fellow Foundation board members, Tim Murphy was drawn to Sutter Creek by its small town appeal. He and his wife were looking for a place to raise their children, and Sutter Creek looked ideal. They moved from Sacramento 35 years ago and quickly became involved in the community.
Tim has served on the Sutter Creek City Council for the past 25 years. In that capacity he has become increasingly concerned about the uncertainties faced by local governments regarding the funding of essential services. He is very concerned that without active participation by the community, funding of local historic preservation projects will not be able to compete with the funding demands of public safety and other essential services.
Tim feels that the Foundation provides a convenient means for the public to support the preservation of our local cultural and historic assets.
