Louis Boitano has called Sutter Creek home since birth. His family’s ties to the town go back to the Gold Rush, and the Boitanos have been intimately tied to the town’s history ever since, so it is not surprising that he is interested in preserving some of the town’s unique and special character.
“The Gold Rush brought my family here, and tourists from all over the world come here every year to see where gold was discovered,” Boitano says.
He supports the foundation’s goals and wants one of the first projects to be creating a park where the town can display its antique mining equipment. “I feel a mining display will entice tourists traveling through to stop and support our local businesses at the same time.”
“We here in Sutter Creek have a lot of unique assets, some of which need a little polish to bring out their luster.”
